After some consideration, I have decided to not publish the Game of Life application to the Android Market - the Android market has already a reputation for low quality applications and does not need every new developer to the Android platform's equivalent of Hello, world (and that includes mine).

Furthermore, on the Android Developers site, there is a detailed explanation on how to publish your application.
